Hi, my name is Dr Warrick Bishop, and I'm a cardiologist. I'd like to just take a moment and tell you about the importance of knowing exactly what medications you're on. I'll get confronted with this all the time asking patients what they're taking and they're just not sure. Your medications are the very thing that define how well you are managed. They are precise instruments and tools that we use to keep you as well as possible and they tell a story between what the GP has on their list, between what I might have in my notes, between what the pharmacist has dispensed. The only person who truly knows what they're taking is you. So please keep a list of your medications in your wallet, maybe next to the Medicare card. If you were knocked out unconscious and got taken to hospital. Do you think that would help your care? Of course, it would. So look after your medications. Know exactly what you're on.
