Hi, Warrick Bishop here, as you probably figured. So this is the healthy heart network live show, which was scheduled for the 16th of June, and is now going to be the 17th of June, covering two days. We're going to talk about some questions that people have asked. I'm going to use those questions actually for education.
So normally I like to break these shows into a little bit of education, some questions from the audience, and then perhaps a case study. But today I'm going to combine, if you like, the questions into some teaching because I think they're really valuable. I would also like to take a moment and say to those people who did leave questions, I really, really appreciate that because the last thing I want to do is talk for hours to entertain myself. I really want to be able to provide you with information that interests you. So I'm going to answer some questions. I'm going to tell you what they are in a moment.
Today, the topics are going to be around do statins reduce blockages in arteries, how do we know how tight arteries are and when do we fix up blocked arteries? I've also got one case which I'll chat about at the end, but let me get going. I would like to start off by sharing with you two questions that came through a number of weeks ago when I asked for any specific questions.
So Susan Bauer asked, "at what percentage blockage should a stent be placed?" And she also asked, "if you're on statins, will the blockage get better, stay the same, or possibly get worse?" I'm going to actually take that as the first question, cause it's a really important one. And then I'll come back to percentage of blockage.
