Hi, my name is Dr. Warrick Bishop, and I'm a cardiologist. I've got a podcast that this video is an introduction to, and that podcast covers a story about an interaction I had with a patient where we got our wires crossed, where the patient's interpretation of what I was trying to say was really to a large degree the exact opposite of what I was trying to say.

This is an important situation because the communication in a consultation is key to next steps for that individual patient. And in this particular situation, it could've led to significant problems. It is important to be as clear as possible with your doctor, to get as much information as possible and be sure that you're both on the same page. We all make mistakes.
