Hi, my name's Dr. Warrick Bishop and I'm a cardiologist. Welcome to my Healthy Heart Minute. This minute is about cholesterol and side effects.
There isn't a drug on earth that can't give some people side effects. Even tomatoes will give some people arthritis, so we always have to be aware of that.
What's causing the side effects? Complicated. What's important when we identify side effects? Well, finding the best solution for that individual patient. We may have to dose adjust. We may have to use different drugs. There's a whole range of things we can do.
I've had the chance to speak with Dr. Alastair Begg, a friend, a colleague, and a well-respected cardiologist who deals obviously in the same area.
