This one's about something that is often not thought about, but incredibly important. If you go into hospital and you need surgery, you will know your surgeon. And I bet you London to a brick, you won't forget your surgeon's name, but do you know what? If there isn't an anesthetist behind the scenes looking after you while you have your surgery than even the best surgeon in the world will count for nothing.
Anesthesia, the process of anesthesia, the way that we look after individuals during surgery so they don't remember, so they don't feel pain, so that they can be operated on safely, is an incredibly complicated and interesting space.
I've had the chance to speak with Dr Sandy Zalstein, who's an anesthetist, who I work with in respect. He shares his information, his journey, his thoughts around anesthesia, and I think you'll find it interesting. Check out the link to the podcast attached to this video.
